Season-high 2 Mustangs named to MASL Team

CHICAGO (March 7, 2017) — For the first time this season, the Chicago Mustangs had a pair of players named to the MASL Team of the Week.

In the final week of the season, defender Luis “Peewee” Ortega and forward Taylor Bond earned the honor, keeper Jesus Flores earned honorable mention as the team closed the season with a 5-4 win in Milwaukee.

Peewee earned the honor for the first time this season with three assists and one block in the team’s only win over rival Wave. His assists included the game-winner as he fed Bond on a give-and-go with 14.1 seconds left.

Bond earned his third team of the week honor with a pair of goals to send Chicago into the offseason on a winning note.
Flores made 13 saves and only conceded four goals, for his 10th win of the season.
